Our safeguarding commitment
Halfspace upholds the highest safeguarding standards in line with The FA guidance and UK legislation. All coaches are Enhanced DBS-checked and trained in Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid. We maintain clear supervision ratios, safe venues, and robust reporting procedures.
Safer recruitment
Enhanced DBS checks, reference checks, induction training, and probation for new staff and volunteers.
Training & compliance
Annual Safeguarding and First Aid refreshers; clear Codes of Conduct for coaches, players and parents.
Reporting & support
Simple, confidential reporting routes with a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) overseeing all cases.

Key procedures
How to raise a concern
- Record facts (date/time, people present, what was said/done). Do not investigate.
- Report to the DSL at the earliest opportunity via email/phone above.
- In an emergency or if you cannot reach the DSL, contact Police (999) or Local Authority Children’s Services.
